Center Politics

Most of the current endless (mindless?) political debate to the south of the Canadian border makes for interesting entertainment and shocking news drama but I'm not sure if any of it is helpful, productive or progressive. Gridlock is gridlock. Ping pong politics doesn't really move the ball forward.

America actually has many political parties, not just two. There's over 25 active political parties in the USA and a brief list of the larger ones that are active in more than one state includes:

Libertarian Party Green Party Constitution Party Working Families Party Reform Party American Delta Party Natural Law Party Progressive Party

When a nation is so completely divided politically, there's only a few options left: civil war, permanent gridlock or something new happening. So far option number two has been on the table for several decades now. Civil war is probably not going to happen either because the police/military are too strong and the people too comfortable in their relative political corners.

Anyone who has played chess knows that the real object of the game is not to take the king, but to get control of the center. Once you have gained the center position, the opponent's defense crumbles. The sad part of USA is that the elites who operate behind the scenes have total control over the center because they control both parties. The truth is that the sociopaths couldn't care less about either left or right, they just move the pieces on the board around to give the people the illusion that the game is real.

Here's my suggestion, doubt anyone is listening, but what the hey, this is Facebook and it's the only place left where you can say whatever you want.

What if the alternative parties formed an alliance? What if all the dissidents and independent voters and those who are just so thoroughly disgusted with the American political machine got together and decided to put aside their differences for the good of the country? Too far-fetched?

It wasn't too far-fetched when the Republican Party formed—the only third party in American history to become a major party—displaced the Whigs (along with several smaller parties) between 1854, when it was founded, and 1860, when it propelled Abraham Lincoln to the presidency.

Food for thought to my American friends from the frozen north. Have a nice day. God Bless the USA. 🇺🇸👍🙏⚾️🍟
