WALLS

Writer: Richard RevelstokeRichard Revelstoke

Walls keep people out but they also shut us in. Walls may protect us and keep undesirables out but they also separate us and divide us - first physically, then emotionally and then finally, spiritually.

We’re connected by our mutual membership in the human race. We’re all in this together whether we like it or not. Our global society means we are all affected by the actions of each other.

Strange that a country founded by immigrants is becoming so antagonistic towards immigrants. Diversity and cultural pluralism are strengths not weaknesses. Even from a biological point of view, expanding the gene pool is positive and desirable.

We should be opening up doors wherever possible and building bridges between nations and cultures; tearing down barriers instead of putting up walls. Otherwise we will have more division and conflict and social unrest. ☀️🌎❤️
