Meanwhile in Yemen, USA is funding and arming Saudi Arabia to fight its proxy war. So far 250,000 people have perished off the face of the Earth, many from starvation and cholera. The finger-pointing turns to Iran who is allegedly guilty of the crime of defying the Empire. So in all probability, despite the madness of their plan, the Empire will strike back.
War madness it is and those infected with the disease of incurable bomb-the-hell-out-of-them-itis are currently rolling out plans for 120,000 boots on the ground. Did we mention Iran has nuclear weapons?
Anyone who has spent half an hour studying the terrain of Iran will realize the enormous logistical challenge of attempting any landed invasion. Iran is an excessively mountainous, rugged country. And Iran is not Iraq or Syria. They have significant armed forces and high-tech weapons. The Iranian defense minister has been quoted as saying "Bring it on, we've been preparing for 30 years for this."
Our often naive assumption with the elites in power is that they are rational sane individuals, despite the evidence to the contrary. Madness takes many forms. Those who are drunk with power are unable to see or think clearly. They have drunk the "cup of God's wrath" and are consumed with their own false sense of invincibility.

The Herods and Pilates were too busy building their empires to spend time listening at the feet of a commoner who had some weird ideas about brotherly love and peace on Earth.
Sometimes it's hard to get your head around the fact that the world is ruled by wicked, often mentally unstable men and women with little regard for the lives of those they rule. The truth is that it's the elites who "rule with a rod of iron" and not some future messiah who will save us with a militant global theocracy.
